The University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus operates Internet sites for the purpose of providing information, in particular for patients, their relatives, referring physicians, scientists and students as well as all other Internet users. The Internet presence is intended to facilitate access to helpful information about the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus in a structured manner, independent of time and place.

As an institution under public law, the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus is subject to the regulations of the Saxon state data protection laws as well as the relevant legal provisions for the protection of natural persons in the processing of personal data.

General information on the processing of personal data

Personal data is all data that can be related to you personally, e.g. name, address, e-mail addresses, user behaviour. The person responsible in accordance with Art. 4 Para. 7 of the EU Data Protection Basic Regulation (DS-GVO) is the executive board named in the imprint of the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus. You can reach our data protection officer by e-mail and at our postal address with the addition "to the data protection officer". If the opportunity for the input of data is given, the input of these data takes place voluntarily.

Processing of personal data when visiting our websites

If you use the website for informational purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser sends to our server. This serves the purpose of identifying and tracing unauthorised access attempts and access to the web server. The logged data is stored for a period of 7 days and then deleted, unless a detected web attack leads to civil or criminal prosecution of the attacker.

Cookies

In addition to the data mentioned above, cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard disk, assigned to the browser you are using, and through which certain information flows to the site that sets the cookie (here by us). We delete the data collected in this context after the storage is no longer necessary or restrict the processing if there is a legal obligation to retain data. Your contact data will only be used by us for correspondence with you. The data will not be passed on to third parties.

Newsletter & Lists

When registering to receive our newsletter or to be included in the list of participants of our events, the data you provide will be used exclusively for the respective purpose. In addition, as a subscriber you can be informed by e-mail about aspects relevant to the service or registration (for example, changes to the newsletter offer or technical conditions).

For an effective registration we need a valid e-mail address. In order to verify that a registration is actually made by the owner of an e-mail address, we use the "double-opt-in" procedure. For this purpose, we log the ordering of the newsletter, the sending of a confirmation e-mail and the receipt of the answer requested hereby. Further data is not collected. The collection of additional features such as an electronic training number for events is optional, only in individual cases and only within the necessary organizational framework. The data will be used exclusively for sending the newsletter or for event organisation and will not be passed on to third parties.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for the newsletter dispatch at any time. In every newsletter you will find a corresponding link. In addition, you can also inform us of your corresponding request by using the contact option at the top of this page.

SSL Encryption

To protect your data transmitted on our pages in the best possible way, we use SSL encryption. You can recognize such encrypted connections by the prefix "https://" in the page link in the address line of your browser. We reserve the right to amend this data protection declaration from time to time so that it always meets current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. when introducing new services.
